FIA European Truck Racing Championship
Il FIA European Truck racing Championship è un campionato a livello europeo che prevede le corse con trattori stradali. I mezzi sono derivati da quelli di serie con un peso medio di 5000 kg. Anche i motori sono derivati da quelli di serie ma sono sovralimentati. Possono avere un massimo di 13000 centimetri cubici di cilindrata e hanno intorno ai 1100 cv di potenza a poco più di 1000 giri al minuto.


Autocarro della European Truck Racing Cup
I camion del campionato europeo sono tutti autolimitati a 160 km/h, a differenza della Fórmula Truck brasiliana in cui i camion non sono derivati da quelli di serie e raggiungono la velocità di 250 km/h. I camion sono dotati di un cambio a dodici rapporti e di cabine dotate di roll-bar (barre anti-ribaltamento) per evitare che la cabina si schiacci in caso di incidenti gravi. Il camion non deve essere più alto di 2,5 metri per evitare ribaltamenti ma anche per maggiori performance.

La prima edizione è del 1985 e prevedeva la suddivisione in tre classi (A, B e C) in base a massa e cilindrata; dal 1994 al 2005 il campionato ha due classi, Super-Race-Trucks e Race-Trucks, finché la prima non viene soppressa dal 2006 per ridurre i costi (e la velocità), da questo momento il campionato prende il nome attuale.

Tra i circuiti storici si ricordano il Nürburgring, Misano e Nogaro.

Goodyear Truck Cup
Dal 2017, la serie ha iniziato a correre la Goodyear Truck Cup all'interno del normale campionato piloti. La competizione è riservata ai piloti che hanno ottenuto la classificazione "Chrome" dall'ente sanzionatorio; i piloti sono considerati "Chrome" a meno che le loro prestazioni passate non meritino il grado di "Titan".

Il team Schwabentruck è stato fondato nel 2010 e gestiva il nuovo camion da corsa IVECO, con cui ha gareggiato con successo nell'ADAC Middle Rhine Cup quell'anno.

Nel 2011, sono seguiti continui piazzamenti tra i primi dieci e un acclamato 2° posto nella Zolder belga in quattro gare FIA ​​in una stagione competitiva.

Il 2012 ha visto la strada verso il successo avvicinarsi con i piloti Gerd Körber, Georg Glöckler e Markus Altenstrasser che hanno conquistato ulteriori posizioni sul podio. Un terzo posto a Misano e un secondo a Le Mans per Körber sono stati i momenti salienti del 2015 per la squadra amichevole di Lonsee, nella Germania centro-meridionale.

Il 2016 ha visto diverse prestazioni eccellenti con Markus Altenstrasser e Gerd Körber che hanno conquistato il podio al primo round in Austria. Successivamente Körber ha segnato costantemente e ha vinto all'Hungaroring, ma solo per vedere la vittoria portata via dopo una penalità post-gara.

Il 2017 ha visto Körber competere nuovamente nell'IVECO con il motore Cursor. Ha anche collaborato con Jochen Hahn nel campionato a squadre.

Nel 2018 Steffi Halm è passata da Reinert Racing al Team Schwabentruck per occupare un posto lasciato libero da Gerd Körber. È arrivata sesta in classifica, con due vittorie a suo nome.

I suoi risultati impressionanti sono continuati nel 2019, dove è salita sul podio 11 volte ed è arrivata quarta nella classifica generale.

Nel 2020 il Team Hahn Racing ha rilevato il Team Schwabentruck. Steffi e Jochen competono insieme nel campionato a squadre ed entrambi gareggiano con il nuovo IVECO S-Way.

Steffi ha avuto una stagione solida nel 2021, conquistando più pole a griglia invertita e quattro secondi posti.

KISS
Norbert Kiss is not only one of Hungary's greatest ever racing drivers, but the 37-year-old has carved out a reputation as the fastest driver of his generation in the Goodyear FIA ETRC.

A double champion in 2014 and 2015, Kiss actually started his career sim-racing in his homeland. By 2006 he was doing it for real on the track and won the Renault Clio Cup in Hungary at his very first attempt!

Further success followed in 2007 when he took the Seat Leon Cup after a dominant display. He showed he was the supreme force again in 2008 when he took the double with another convincing display.

By now Kiss' reputation had skyrocketed and he took another domestic title in the popular Suzuki Swift category. Kiss also branched out in to single-seaters and turned many heads in the Formula Renault 2-litre category as well.

His attentions turned to the FIA ETRC in 2011 where he started to learn quickly. By the end of that season he had already scored his first win at Jarama and the quest continued in to 2012 with the Hungarian OXXO Racing Team.

Further wins came in 2012 with double wins again at Jarama and also at Le Mans Bugatti. In 2013 he finished fourth in the standings and by 2014 he was a major threat to the established stars and duly won the title with nine victories.

He defended his title brilliantly in 2015 with a record-breaking campaign in which he scored a remarkable 19 race wins.

Surely the hat-trick would be on for 2016, but to the surprise of many Kiss elected to change teams and switched to the Marcus Bauer run Tankpool24 Racing squad where he took victory at Nogaro and finished fifth in the standings with his Mercedes-Benz challenger.

In 2017 Kiss stayed at tankpool24-Racing where he had his eye on that third title, but being a formidable force and one of the best qualifiers throughout the year was only enough for third in the final standings.

In 2018 and 2019 the Hungarian driver's struggles continued. One race win, fifth in the final standings and not a single pole position is not enough to satisfy one of the best racing drivers Hungary has ever produced.

For 2020 Kiss teamed up with the brand-new Révész Truck Racing team and took to the track in a fire-red MAN truck. The team showed a strong performance in their debut year and Kiss scored four wins and two podiums.

Kiss utterly dominated the 2021 season with an incredible pace, where he secured 10 out of 12 possible pole positions and 11 wins. The Hungarian driver will head up the 2022 grid with the #1 on his fire-red MAN truck.
